Statement of Inquiry : Effective communication strategies allow us to influence and inspire a community through media design.
Learner Profile Attributes:
Communicators – Students will develop communication skills by tailoring messages to specific audiences, using visual, verbal, and digital formats. They will practice active listening during peer critiques and refine their ability to convey meaning clearly through design choices.
Thinkers – Students will apply critical and creative thinking to solve design challenges, generate original ideas, and evaluate multiple solutions before selecting and refining the most effective approach.
Principled – Students will explore the ethical responsibilities of media creators, including accuracy, fair representation, and respect for intellectual property. They will make deliberate choices to produce content that reflects integrity and fairness.
Risk-takers – Students will step outside their comfort zones by experimenting with new tools, styles, and formats, and by sharing work publicly with the school community. They will embrace constructive feedback and use it to strengthen their designs.
