Our thoughts are with all members of our school community who have loved ones in Jamaica and other parts of the Caribbean as Hurricane Melissa impacts this part of the world. We know this is a deeply stressful time for families watching from afar. Provincetown IB World Schools stands with you. As an International Baccalaureate community, we value our global connections and shared humanity. We are part of a larger inter-connected world and our values extend beyond Provincetown. Our teachers, staff, and administration are aware that some students may be worried or distracted during this challenging time. Students can check in with Mr. Morgan, our school counselor if they need space to talk.
We have been monitoring the news outlets and want to share the following information. The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IRFC) have mobilized their disaster response to Jamaica ad other affected Caribbean nations. Because communication networks will be disrupted, families can try and stay connected using WhatsApp and social media platforms. Families can visit the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management for updates: www.odpem.org.jm
Our Provincetown IB World Schools community stands together. Please know that we care deeply for our students, staff and families whether here or abroad and we will continue to offer support in the days/months ahead.
With care and solidarity,
Paul Teixeira, Superintendent of Schools

Please note this is not a drop off event!

It is with great enthusiasm and a profound sense of responsibility that I write to you as the next Superintendent of Provincetown IB World Schools.
As we prepare to welcome students back on Tuesday, September 2, I want to share my entry plan for the year ahead. My focus will be on listening, learning and partnering with all of you. This plan includes opportunities for individual and group conversations with faculty, staff, students, families, town officials, and community members so I can hear directly from those who know this district best.
Together, through collaboration and shared commitment, we will continue to deliver exceptional educational experiences while expanding and strengthening our IB program. Our collective efforts will ensure that every student is empowered to reach their full potential in a learning environment that is equitable, inclusive, innovative, and deeply rooted in the values of the IB mission.
You may view my entry plan by following the link at the bottom of this message. I will also be sharing information about group meeting sessions in the weeks ahead. In addition, you’ll find a calendar link to sign up for an individual meeting.
With gratitude and pride,
Paul Teixeira,
Superintendent Provincetown IB World Schools
