What is Technology Integration?
What does a Technology Integration Specialist do?
My name is Tracey Anderson and I’m the Technology Integration Specialist for Provincetown IB Schools. I work with students, teachers, and school administrators to support and teach them to integrate the use of technology both in their learning and their work-spaces. I help everyone gain mastery of current school software on their school devices which range from Chromebooks to iPad’s, Windows PC’s and Mac Books. I also help teachers build interactive and transdisciplinary curriculum using technology.
I look at new and emerging educational platforms and bring those ideas back in to the school to see if they are a good fit for our IB project based learning style. I oversee the internet safety of all students while they are on school devices both in school and at home. I also run a variety of afterschool classes that range from Chess, Pokemon, MTG to Coding and Esports.
I’m well-versed in a multitude of softwares from school information systems (SIS), learning management systems (LMS), educational operating systems and platforms like G Suite and Microsoft for Education. I’m a Google Education and Minecraft Education certified Mentor and as such have a keen interest in educational learning games like Minecraft EDU, Unreal Engine and Epic Games for Education. I love curriculum building that thinks outside the box and I’m all about CRITICAL THINKING!
